The Web Developer is responsible for providing services for the design, management and support of the getmarried.com websites and manages integration of third party applications. The Web Developer will keep expertise current with changes in web page coding protocols, procedures, and a variety of web browsing, development and content management software authorized within the get married infrastructure; implement required changes that enhance page design and content while adhering to company web guidelines; communicate routinely with colleagues, peer organizations and industry professionals to gather and share information on web technology.
Job Functions Design, implement, document, test, and operate web-based, data driven applications Tune code and database queries for optimal performance and architect solutions for scalability. Construct markup and code using technical standards as set forth by the Web development team. Participate in design, standards and code reviews Work on a variety of projects in an agile and adaptive team environment Design all applications and interfaces with globalization and multiple language localization in mind Develops and maintains website including building new sections Responsible for database architecture design and maintenance Requirements Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills Strong understanding of web-based architecture (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication, etc.) Mastery of web technologies (LAMP Development : Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) Understanding of version control techniques (Subversion, CVS, etc.) Up-to-date knowledge of latest trends in web application development Experience developing using Flash/ActionScript, HTML, CSS Knowledge of CMS & ability to create/customize a CMS Photoshop, Dreamweaver Other Skills/Abilities Knowledge of SEO strategies a plus Ability to manage time, prioritize multiple initiatives/request and interact with all levels of management. Must be a team player, hard working, fun and creative. Fast paced environment. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
