Lots of news and some cool giveaways too!
Microsoft has been making big steps in providing tools and technologies that allow people to create awesome web experiences. In less than a year, Silverlight has gone from an interesting technology with low adoption to a serious player for making Rich Internet Applications.
MIX09 brought many exciting announcements around Silverlight, Internet Explorer, Windows 7 that web and user experience designers must know about. It’s important to look beyond the capabilities the technologies themselves can deliver. No doubt Silverlight is a powerful cross browser, cross platform plug-in for delivering RIAs and rich media experiences, but this year’s MIX revealed that the production and development process is critical too.
Glen Gordon and others will give you a guided tour of the biggest news from MIX09, and how they are relevant to you. You’ll see which videos, articles and samples are best bets for you to check out. Plus, you’ll see a few live demos, including the new capabilities of Silverlight 3 being used for video, 3D animation, coding and more. Since there were a number of tool updates and additions, we will take a hands on look at the new design tools, including Expression Blend 3 and the new SketchFlow feature, which changes the game regarding ux-designer-developer workflow. You’ll also hear the perspective of several designers in the community familiar with Microsoft technologies.
Microsoft is providing pizza and beverages, and will give away software, books, training materials and more.

Design Feedback and Open Q&A
After the presentation we will take some time for anyone in the group to get feedback on a project they are working on. Whether it's a design comp, programming question, business plan, user interface decision, or any other web design question – just ask the group and we will do our best to help.
We're looking forward to a great turnout, and a great event so RSVP now to reserve your seat.
